Josie Kropfl – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – As Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) Mustangs near the end of the 2025-2026 school year, clubs and programs have picked their new leaders for the upcoming school year, including “Mustangs Ahead” journalism.
Mustangs Ahead is LRHS’s journalism program, reporting and publishing news every day. Within Mustangs Ahead, there are eight different positions revolving around editing stories, organizing news, and helping students who need it.
For the 2026-2027 school year, the positions and students filling them are listed below -
Senior Editor - Olivia Holden
Senior Associate Editor - Victoria Peterson
Sports Editor - Isla Stewart
Engagement Editor - Kate Ronston
Junior Associate Editor - Addison Gentz (new)
Outreach Coordinator - Claire Sorenson (new)
Podcast Editors - Kate Bagshaw and Cassidy Barnhardt (new)
Associate Sports Editor - Taylor Knoll (new)
Gentz, Sorenson, Barnhardt, and Knoll have all been welcomed into the crew for the first time and are excited for their new journeys as leaders in the journalism program.

Knoll, the upcoming Associate Sports Editor, explained how she is “very excited to be a part of the team” as she “wanted this position since [she] she started in journalism.”
Holden, the Senior Editor, noted she is “excited for this new perspective of Mustangs Ahead leadership, and what the year will bring.”
Similarly, Peterson, the Senior Associate Editor, said “the new leaders are all pretty familiar with each other, which will help for team bonding and a smooth year.” She is “excited to see what will happen with Mustangs Ahead.”
