(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) symphonic orchestra class earned all “Excellent” ratings at the State Musical Performance Assessment (MPA) on April 15.

The class and a selected few travelled to Titusville to perform their pieces at State MPAs.

LRHS Orchestra Director Melissa Diaz said this is the best the orchestra has done in a long time.

“This is the first time since 2017 that the LRHS orchestra participated in a state-level performance,” she said.

At this prestigious level, the players performed three pieces.

After their performance, they had a 30-minute clinic with a highly educated professor.

Sophomore Amanda Hysell stated, “The teacher really opened my eyes on the impact of music through his emotional analogies and comparisons.”

Diaz is more than proud of the class’s hard work and dedication this year.

The end of year orchestra concert is scheduled for Wednesday April 29 in the school auditorium.
