Kayla Goodwin - Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - Lakewood Ranch High School’s (LRHS) Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) held their very last Tuesday morning meeting of the 2025-26 school year.

Members reflected on how they have grown spiritually throughout this school year. Many members have stated that they felt as if their faith in the Lord has improved, and many reflect on the fact that they used to be scared to share their faith, but now they have boldness.

After the members reflected on their growth within their faith, the new FCA officers were recognized -

  • Junior Keegan Bellew

  • Freshman Daniel Hernandez

Bellew said, “I’m sure many of my peers at LRHS understand how exhausting and stressful high school can be and that’s why FCA is a great outlet to not only focus on the positive aspects of high school, but also come together in community where everybody can grow in their faith.”

Hernandez said, “I’m excited to hopefully have some people give their life to Christ at this stage of life because it’s still really early in their lives and the rest of their lives will be so much better walking with God.”

There will also be two returning officers -

  • Junior Jacob Briggs

  • Junior Kayla Goodwin

During the meeting guest speaker Jacob Carter from Bayside Community Church recognized all the seniors and prayed over them as they go and take the next big step in their life.

One of the senior officers, Collete Testa, gave advice at the conclusion of the meeting, “Be a leader, invest in people, and honor God. That’s where the value is at.”
