Katerina Nina-Demina – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - On May 22 the Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) auditorium will be filled with excitement and pride as the 18 2025-26 Mini Mustangs prepare to graduate from the school’s Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) program.
This special ceremony marks a significant milestone for these young learners and their families.
Mini Mustangs Teacher Aide Sara Lay shared her reflections on this school year.
“I have loved watching the Mini Mustangs grow both academically and personally. They have made so much progress in letter and number recognition, writing, communication, problem solving and confidence,” she said.
“Beyond academics, I've seen them build friendships, learn kindness, gain independence and grow into amazing little humans. It has been such a joy to watch each child's personality and confidence shin throughout the year, I am so proud of how far they have come.”

The graduation event is expected to draw a large crowd, including families with relatives, some expected from other states, to celebrate. Senior student teachers who have been part of the Mini Mustangs journey will return to join the celebration.
Lay also offered inspiring advice for the graduates as they move forward. “My biggest piece of advice is to always be kind. Kindness matters everywhere you go, in the classroom, on the playground, and in life. Keep believing in yourselves, trying your best, helping others, and never stop learning. I hope they continue to grow into confident, caring, and respectful humans who make the world a little brighter wherever they go.”
As the Mini Mustangs step into the next chapter of their educational journey, their graduation day promises to be a memorable celebration of growth, learning, and the power of kindness.
