(Lakewood Ranch, FL) -- Every summer seems to have its own song. The “song of summer” has become an unofficial soundtrack for vacations, beach getaways and theme park rides.
Last summer some of the most familiar summer hits were “What I Want” by Morgan Wallen ft. Tate McRae, “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan, “Manchild” by Sabrina Carpenter, and “Ordinary” by Alex Warren.
Every summer a new song is always designated as a summer classic.
Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) Sophomore Amir Williams stated, “the song that reminds me the most of summer is ‘Glorious’ by Drake.”
Junior Katerina Nino Demina said, “My favorite summer song to listen to is ‘Babydoll’ by Dominic Fike.”

Since 2020, several artists have recorded several top summer hits. For instance, in 2022 Bad Bunny’s songs “Me Porto Bonito” and “Titi Me Pregunto” became some of the most popular hits.
In 2024, Sabrina Carpenter’s songs, “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” spiked in popularity as summer rolled around.
In the 2010s, Drake had a few most listened to songs throughout multiple summers. Like, 2018 “In My Feelings” and 2016 “One Dance”.
The classic “song of the summer” in 1999 was “Livin’ La Vida Loca” by Ricky Martin.
