(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) Wednesday held freshman and sophomore grade level assemblies covering essential information for the 2026-27 school year.
Topics that were spoken about throughout the sophomore assembly focused on school safety, student preparation, campus conduct, and counseling.
New LRHS Principal Michael Mullen and Assistant Principal Dorlinda Carlson expressed the importance of academic achievement and being a part of a school community. Mullen stated, "Represent your school, represent yourself, and represent your family in the best possible way."
Students were encouraged to get involved through the variety of clubs and sports offered on campus and maintain awareness of appropriate behavior during the school day.
Carlson mentioned, "Keep achieving throughout the year to keep your opportunities open; we want to see you succeed."
LRHS assistant principal Dr. Melissa Dowling emphasized the value of school safety, reassuring students that they are in a safe place and have help open to them whenever they may need. Dowling shared, "Besides ensuring that our students learn and grow, our #1 philosophy is keeping our students safe."
Students then watched a video on significant signs of concerning behavior, as it was suggested that any signs of suspicion shall be reported immediately in order to uphold the best safety possible for our students and staff.
