Callie Phillips – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) is expanding "College Shirt Wednesdays." In the past staff members would wear shirts to show off their alumni loyalty. This year students are encouraged to join and support their favorite teams, too, whether college or pro.

LRHS College and Career Adviser Vito Bavaro expanded the idea this year to show off school spirit.

Bavaro specifically picked up college shirts to wear because LRHS is a very college orientated school. He wants students to show pride in the schools that students want to go to and which ones they get accepted to.

He feels that wearing either college or sport clothes is a good way to get people talking and a good way for students to bond with their teachers.

“We love seeing the students have pride in the team or college they choose. They also get to show off where they come from or where they want to go," Bavaro said.

Bavaro is hoping that everyone participates in college or team apparel day. College and team apparel day starts this Wednesday.
