Samantha Mattia – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) holds their first EmpowHer meeting of the 2026-27 school year at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19 in room 625. A club application is required to be filled out.

EmpowHer is a club at LRHS that aims to empower young women through faithful connections and relationships.

The meeting will provide girls at LRHS with the chance to learn more about the club, what it offers, and what it brings to the school community.

The club offers members opportunities to bond with peers while they enjoy a breakfast treat.

Senior officer Myla Adams said, "It is so much more than a club to me; it is a community that I know will impact me the rest of my life, which is what I hope for every girl who is involved. It gives the opportunity for girls to bring Jesus into their lives at school."

Each week, a different portion of the Bible is discussed, with a corresponding presentation and at the end of each meeting, the girls will have the opportunity to connect with one another as they share their own faith experiences to better relate to one another through the hardships of adolescence.
