(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - The National Football League (NFL) preseason officially started on Aug. 6 as the Carolina Panthers beat the Arizona Cardinals 33-30 in the most watched preseason opener ever with a peak of seven million viewers.
The beginning of the game saw quarterback Drew Brees, wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, linebacker Luke Kuechly, kicker Adam Vinateri, and running back Rodger Craig get officially inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The first slate of preseason games is the first time important rookies get to show their skills in the NFL.
"Being able to watch football again is really nice after months of it being away. I can't wait until the regular season starts so the games actually matter," said LRHS senior Elliot Brumfiel.
