Lyla Letaw - Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) Student Government Association (SGA) looks forward to getting Mustangs involved in school spirit and representation.

LRHS SGA adviser and vocational teacher Tommy Cuervo said the main goal for SGA is “to get as many students involved in the high school experience as possible, whether it is at homecoming or one of our monthly events.”

The hard-working club of SGA plans every spirit week. Mustangs who like dressing up and going all out during spirit week, thank SGA for planning those ideas.

SGA plans the homecoming theme, and sets up the dance, so Mustangs can have a memory-filled night.

The next thing SGA has planned for Mustangs is scheduled for Homecoming Weel in October. SGA organizes a dress up theme for each day of the week and ends the week with a bonfire for everyone to come together on Thursday.

SGA’s first event of 2026-27 was the staff “Breakfast of Champions,” which included Chick-fil-A sandwiches and fruit. Cuervo decided to start the event to “celebrate the end of the first week since we consider all our staff champions.”
