Colin Hymes – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) -The Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) Girls varsity golf defeated Manatee High.

The Mustangs opened their season with a 151-214 victory over Manatee in a nine-hole match at Lakewood Ranch Country Club's Cypress Links course.

Freshman Chloe Friedberg led the Mustangs with a team-low 36, earning medalist honors for the match. Freshman Jade MacFarland followed with a 37, while Freshman Gabby Semmerling shot a 38. Freshman Liana Odendal and junior Lexi Snell each finished with a 40 to complete LRHS’s final score of 151.

LRHS will look to continue its strong start as it faces Venice High School on Aug. 25 at Lakewood Ranch Country Club's Cypress Links course.

The match will give the Mustangs another opportunity to compete on their home course and build momentum for the remainder of the season.
