Elliot Brumfiel—Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - So-called “Week 0” of the 2026 college football season opened with big brands victorious.
Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) freshman Easton Brumfiel stated, “I loved watching football again after such a long offseason. I hope my (University of Michigan) Wolverines go all the way. Go Blue!”
Week 0 kicked off in Ireland with Head Coach Bill Belicheck leading the North Carolina Tar Heels defeated the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs 15-10.
Another big game was when New Mexico State lost to Florida State 34-17.
Senior Colin Hymes, a Florida State fan, stated, “I’m happy we won, probably one of very few this season.”

LRHS senior Thomas Baker, a University of Florida fan, jokes the FSU Seminoles “did not play well "after “hate watching” the Seminoles.
Stanford beat Hawaii 37-27 with Michigan transfer Davis Warren throwing for over 300 yards.
The Jaden Maiava-led University of Southern California (USC) Trojans crushed the San Jose Stare Spartans 42-26.
