Aiden Mandel – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - Last Friday the Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) varsity football team was defeated by the rival Braden River High School (BRHS) Pirates 39-28.

It was a hard-fought game, but BRHS’s explosive offense overmatched the Mustangs’ defense. The Mustangs are still undefeated at home and look to continue that stretch over the course of the season.

The Mustangs are taking on the Riverview High School Rams (2-1) at Riverview. The games are scheduled a day earlier because of Friday being the Jewish Holiday Rosh Hashanah. The junior varsity (JV) game is scheduled for Wednesday, and the varsity game will be on Thursday.

LRHS senior Ka’marion Jones said, “We took a tough loss against our rival team, but we are ready to bounce back against Riverview this Thursday for our first district game. This game is important because it will allow us to compete in the district playoffs.”
