Caroline Bartlomiejczuk - Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - The Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) girls' cross-country team placed third at Wellen Park Eagles Invitational last weekend.

Many of the runners agreed that this course was difficult because of the uneven ground. It was a new course that the teams have not run before, so they believe next time they will be able to perform better.

Senior Ariana Pressimone said, “The transitions between concrete, grass, and curbs made the course particularly difficult.”

The girl's junior varsity team placed second at the meet.

Sophomore Lyla Baumgartner placed second individually.

Baumgartner said, “I ran well on the leaderboard, but the race felt hard to me. I am hoping that when we come back that I can better prepare for the course.”

The team is scheduled to travel to Lakeland for the Seffner Christian Invitational on Sept. 12.
