(Lakewood Ranch, FL)- The Mu Alpha Theta club is welcoming Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) Mustangs.
Mu Alpha Theta club is a nationwide club that supports student tutoring and mathematic training.
The club is open at 7:00 a.m every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday for peer tutoring in room 587.
Mu Alpha Theta’s qualifications require two years' worth of college preparatory mathematics, including algebra and/or geometry, and asks of Mustangs who are enrolled or have completed algebra 2.
Mustangs who want to participate in Mu Alpha Theta must also have a 3.5 math GPA and at least a 3.0 overall GPA.

Mu Alpha Theta is extremely beneficial for students, helping with their understanding of math and leadership.
Club adviser and LRHS Advanced Placement (AP) math teacher Meghan Sugalski said, “Mu Alpha Theta is a recognized in two-year colleges and high schools across the nation.”
Mustangs who attend Mu Alpha Theta are also proud of the benefits that their club brings.
President and sophomore Andrey Arutyunov, said, “I think it will be a good chance for people struggling in math to get tutoring.”
Secretary and senior Landon Caruso said, “We will be able to provide a focused and effective system of tutoring in math to help students around LRHS.”
