Thomas Baker— Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) Mustangs prepare for boys soccer tryouts coming up in October 13-16.

With a large number of players expected to compete for a limited number of spots, Mustangs will have to come prepared both physically and mentally.

Players will be evaluated through fitness, technical drills, scrimmages, and other activities designed to test their abilities on the field.

One of the biggest challenges players will face is the physical aspect of tryouts. Soccer requires players to maintain their energy and endurance while continuing to perform at a high level.

LRHS senior Luka Mikanovic is preparing for the fitness portion of tryouts and knows that being in shape will be important.

Mikanovic stated, “I’ve been putting in a lot of work recently with my fitness to get ready for tryouts as they are always challenging.”

Senior Edward Lloyd-Jones is focused on the competition and the importance of making an impression on the coaching staff.

Lloyd-Jones stated, “This area has a lot of talent, so I need to make sure I am prepared to put my best foot forward to impress the coaches during tryouts.”

For returning Mustangs, the tryouts provide an opportunity to show how they are going to replenish the seniors that graduated after last season. New players will also have the chance to compete for a spot and demonstrate what they can contribute to the team.
