Thomas Baker - Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) boys and girls golf recorded positive results in recent competitions.
One boys team won finished first in their most recent tournament. A second LRHS team was a runner-up.
The Mustangs are now ranked third in the state of Florida in Class 3A, and 24th in the nation.
Sebring hosted its Crutchfield - Hawkins Invitational Monday at Dun ‘N’ Lake Country Club with 36 teams competing.
The LRHS Green team won as the top team in their division by five shots over Kings Academy, firing a seven over par total paced by junior Will Thomas’ one under par 71.
The Silver team was runner-up to McKeel Academy in the second division, shooting 304, 16 over par total paced by sophomore Trey Susa’s even par 72.

On Sept. 22, the Mustangs defeated St. Stephens on their home course at Bradenton country club by a score of 278 to 283. It was the first loss of the year for the Falcons and avenged an earlier loss for LRHS.
The match’s medalist was junior Will Thomas who fired three under par 68. Seniors Owen Gellatly and Donny Plakyda added 69s, and Trey Susa’s one over par 72 sealed the win.

Meanwhile the Lady Mustangs placed runner up at River Strand Golf and Country Club against undefeated Parrish and Cardinal Mooney.
The Mustangs shot 158 behind Parrish’s 140. Mustangs Avery Banfill and Natalie Angelo led the tournament with scores of 34.
The Lady Mustangs are 4-3 on the year.
