Elliot Brumfiel—Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) -- Week six of College Football concluded with controversy and drama.
The big game of the week was the Georgia Bulldogs at the Alabama Crimson Tide. On a Second and 10 with 3:29 remaining, Alabama quarterback Keelon Russel threw it into the endzone, and it was incomplete because of a controversial, apparent “no-call” by the refs.
A missed pass interference by Bulldogs defensive back K.J. bolden that wasn’t called is the big buzz around the game.
Georgia went on to win 20-17.
Another controversial SEC game was in Lexington, Kentucky where, in overtime, the Kentucky Wildcats completed a 2-point conversion and defeated the Louisiana State Tigers after another no-call.

In the Red River Rivalry, the Oklahoma Sooners upset the Texas Longhorns on a walk off field goal. Multiple interceptions by the Longhorn quarterback Arch Manning set the Sooners up for touchdowns or in great field position.
Another close game occurred in Eugene, Oregon where the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) defeated the Oregon Ducks 17-15 in a low scoring, defensive battle.
UCLA’s quarterback Nico Imalealaov suffered a knee injury and is out for the season after putting on such a strong start for the Bruins this season.
The Florida Gators dropped a second straight game this time at home to the South Carolina Gamecocks 38-19. The Gators started the season off 4-0 and lost last week to the Missouri Tigers and this week to the Gamecocks.
LRHS junior Colton Searcy stated, “It’s devastating. All the hype after the first four games and it’s all gone.”
LRHS senior Gator Thomas Baker states, “this team is so frustrating to watch, but I still have hope, always will.”
