IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE END OF SENIOR YEAR
Senior Fee: this amount covers the cost of your cap & gown as well as other costs associated with the graduation ceremony and celebration.
Cost is $100 payable cash, check, or money order
Payments can be made in the cafeteria from April 6th until May 6th
Caps and Gowns: bring your signed and completed pick-up card (cards available in the cafeteria and in student services) to the Senior picnic to pick up your cap and gown. Cards require a signature from Flynt showing you’ve paid the senior fee, bookkeeping to show your school acct is cleared, and from the cafeteria to show that account is clear.
Decorating your cap is NOT ALLOWED. Doing so will result in walking without one for the ceremony.
You are NOT ALLOWED to wear any non-approved stoles or cords for the ceremony. If you have one made, take personal pics with them, but leave them at home. The only approved cords and stoles are for Top 4%, AICE participant, AICE diploma recipient, NHS and SNHS Club stole.
Senior Picnic: the event is from 6 – 8 PM on May 13th, the last day any Senior should be on campus (only for AICE or make-up class exams). It is held at the fairgrounds and is where you’ll pick up your cap and gown. We will have a DJ, loads of free food, yard games, a yearbook signing table, etc. It’s a fun way to wrap up your time at PHS.
Last Day: Your last full regular day of school is May 8th—we have a little something special planned to mark the occasion. 😊 Exams will be held May 9-13. Exam exemption forms and info will be put out by admin in May.
Jumbotron Senior Send Offs: The junior class offers friends and family the opportunity to send graduating Seniors well wishes on the Jumbotron before and after the ceremony as a fundraiser. Orders will run April 6th – May 1st. Email MolinaObregonB@manateeschools.net your sendoff message (must not exceed 140 characters) and attach a JPEG photo (max 3 photos). Payment can be made during lunches (April 6th -May 1st) or dropped off at the front desk. Cost is $50 and can be paid in cash or by check/money order.
Mandatory Graduation Practice: these will be held at 8:30 on May 14th and 15th. If you don’t attend both, you will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony on the 16th. These should only last about an hour—provided you are on time and follow directions. Anyone arriving late will be dealt with by administration. BE ON TIME.
Graduation Tickets: Tickets are included in your senior fee. I anticipate each graduate will receive 10 tickets (this has been the amount given in the past few years and I don’t expect that to change). Children under 3 can sit on laps and will not need a ticket. Ushers are available to help those needing handicapped seating.
GRADUATION: The 2026 Commencement Ceremony will be held at LECOM stadium in Bradenton at 7:30PM on Friday, May 22nd. Graduates will need to be there by 6:30. Maps and more specific info for parking, etc. will be sent via the Senior Class Remind & Schoology page closer to the date of the event.
Dress Code: It is going to be HOT. Like, gross hot. Wear light, breathable clothing and do not put on your gown until we tell you to (carry it in with you rather than wearing it in). Shorts are totally fine. The only HUGE no-no is heels. The ceremony is held on a multi-million-dollar field and heels can tear up the grass. You can wear wedges or super chunky heels, but no traditional ones. You will not be allowed to walk onto the field in them so please plan accordingly.
Speaking of shoes… Graduation will be your last Red Shoe Friday we’d love to see you all wearing your Tiger red! They go great with the gowns and make for some pretty fun and spirited pics. 😊
