architectural rendering of new high school

The public is invited to submit name nominations for a new high school currently under construction in Lakewood Ranch near Post Boulevard and Rangeland Parkway.

Name nominations will be accepted through Friday, April 10. All nominations will be accepted by the School District, and the School Board has expressed a preference for regional and geographic-related names that reflect the surrounding community and area.

The new campus, temporarily known as “High School AAA,” is designed to serve a growing student population and will be the first high school in the county to feature collegiate-style lecture halls for classroom instruction. The campus will also include a modern turf athletic field, rubberized track, auditorium and gymnasium, providing students with innovative learning and extracurricular spaces.

The school is scheduled to open in August 2027, welcoming students in grades 9 and 10. One grade level will be added each subsequent year, with grade 11 opening in August 2028 and grade 12 in August 2029.

Community members are encouraged to participate in the naming process and help shape the identity of Manatee County’s newest high school.
