Mission Statement:

The mission of the Stewart Elementary School Library Media Center is to be an integral part of the school community by supporting the curriculum needs of students and teachers, guiding them to use information effectively, creatively, and responsibly.

Goals & Objectives:

-To expose students to a large variety of literature with the goal of instilling a lifelong love of reading

-To encourage collaboration between the media specialist and classroom teachers to fully integrate information literacy and the school curriculum

-To provide unlimited accessibility to the media center for the entire school community throughout the school day

-To lead students to use information effectively, creatively, and responsibly

-To facilitate the integration of technology within the media center and classroom setting

-To provide a variety of resources to meet the needs, interests, learning styles, and culture of all stakeholders

-To assist teachers and staff with the implementation of the Florida State Curriculum
