    Introducing Ms. Adrienne Vos,
    Assistant Principal at Johnson K-8

    A Message from Ms. Vos:
It is with great delight that I join the family here at L.R. Johnson K-8 School of International Studies. I bring with me a passion for learning and a readiness to help our children achieve.

My education began in Hyattsville, Maryland where I attended the local public schools. Following high school, I moved to Florida where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Exceptional Student Education from the University of South Florida. My educational career has been entirely in the School District of Manatee County. I taught various middle school subjects including math to students with varying exceptionalities. My favorite part about teaching was helping struggling learners see the joy in education, develop perseverance, and achieve their goals.

I then earned my Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from the University of South Florida and moved into a Student Support Specialist position. I spent six wonderful years helping students work through academic and disciplinary challenges at both a middle school and a Title 1 elementary school.

I am eager to see what life at Johnson K-8 will bring and all that I will learn from the staff, students, and families here.

About Louise R. Johnson K-8 School of International Studies
Louise R. Johnson K-8 School of International Studies was authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization in July of 2009 to become an International Baccalaureate World School. As the only 100% choice school in Manatee County, we have a diverse population with an overall enrollment of 1000 students. Through its inquiry-led, transdisciplinary framework, the Primary Years Programme (K-5) challenges students to think for themselves and take responsibility for their learning as they explore local and global issues and opportunities in real-life contexts.  The Middle Years Programme (MYP) is designed for students in grades 6-8.  It provides a framework of learning, which encourages students to become creative, critical and reflective thinkers. The MYP emphasizes intellectual challenge, encouraging students to make connections between their studies in traditional subjects and the real world.  We offer the structure, academic environment, and caring atmosphere to enable students to be successful. Each student is treated with respect and encouraged to reach his or her highest potential. With the assistance of our PTO, School Advisory Council, and numerous other parent volunteers, we will help our students to soar worldwide.
