Medical Magnet Program

Welcome to the Lincoln Memorial Medical Magnet Program.

We offer a one-semester class for all 6th grade.  Students in 7th and 8th grade will be in a full-year program. The course aims to introduce students to the world of healthcare. 

Guest Speakers from our community come to Lincoln to share knowledge of their professions. 

Opportunities are available to take tours of Manatee Memorial Hospital and Blake Medical Center. 

Topics covered in class include, but are not limited to:

Medical Terminology
Healthcare Careers
Basic Anatomy and Physiology
Basic Vital Signs (pulse, respirations, blood pressure, oxygen level)
Common diseases and disorders
Sports Medicine
Nutrition
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
First Aid
Leadership Activities

8th Grade- Medical Skills and Services *Advanced*

Lincoln offers an advanced Health Science course where students can earn a high school credit upon completion. To be in this course, students need to take both the 6th grade one semester course and 7th grade full year course.
