The Patterson Foundation is supporting school readiness and has graciously assembled Kindergarten Readiness Bags that will be given to all incoming kindergarten students when they register at a Title I school. Entering kindergarten ready to learn helps put children on the path to success in school and in life. These resources will ensure that families have the tools they need to prepare children for school. School readiness is one of the key solution areas of the Suncoast Campaign for Grade-Level Reading because early learning directly influences a child's ability to succeed in school.
Each Kindergarten Readiness Bag contains learning tools, including books, flashcards, and alphabet letters, along with a Kindergarten Readiness parent guide explaining how to use the tools to practice critical school-readiness skills. The Early Learning Task Force of Manatee County has created a series of videos, in English and Spanish, to support parents using these resources at home. By using the resources provided in the bags, parents can create fun learning experiences for their children and help prepare them for school.
