Uniform Policy

Shirts/Tops
Collard polo style shirt in any solid color.
Abel T-shirt/Spirit shirt.

Pants/Shorts
Standard uniform slacks or shorts in NAVY, KHAKI, and BLACK.
Long jean pants only (jean shorts, jeans with holes and/or writing are not permitted).

Shoes and Accessories
ALL shoes MUST be closed-toed and secured at the heel.
Tennis shoes are to be worn for PE/recess DAILY.
Open-toed shoes (flip flops and sandals without heel straps are not permitted).

Winter and Inclement Weather
Abel hoodies are available for purchase at the school.
Students may also wear properly fitted, solid-colored sweaters and sweatshirts.
Solid-colored, long sleeved shirts may be worn under uniform shirts when weather warrants a jacket or coat.

Uniform Enforceability
All students are expected to wear the uniform DAILY. Parents are responsible for following Abel’s uniform policy.
• Abel staff members will be responsible for enforcing Abel’s uniform policy.
• Minor uniform violations will be noted in the agendas and/or DOJO.
• Continual or serious violations will be addressed by a phone call to the parents leading to the parent bringing a change of clothes or students wearing uniforms or items from our uniform closet.
• Exceptions to the uniform policy is: Fun Outfit Friday (must follow shoe policy on those days) and school picture days.
• Parents will be notified of any expectations throughout the year.
• New students to Abel are expected to wear their uniform within the first ten days of entering school.

Abel’s Elementary Uniform Policy was established and developed by the Abel Uniform Committee in May, 2022 after a majority vote by parents and staff members, then approved by our school Advisory Council in compliance with the District Uniform Guidelines.
