Student Arrival – Drop-off
The school day officially starts at the sound of the second bell at 8:25 a.m. Students may be dropped off at school no earlier than 7:55 a.m. At this time students wait in their designated areas under the staff supervision until they are picked up by their teachers. Students who arrive at school after the second bell are tardy. Those students must report to the attendance clerk in the office for a tardy slip before going to their classroom. Students who are late due to a late bus arrival will not be counted as tardy and will receive breakfast.
Student Dismissal & Pick-up
The school day ends at 3:15 p.m. Bus riders are dismissed to their assigned waiting areas. Bike riders and walkers are dismissed to the covered walkway. Bike riders must wear helmets and walk their bikes while on school property. All car riders will be escorted to the cafeteria where they will wait to hear their name announced. Please display your car tag with your child(ren)’s name.
At 3:15 p.m. bus riders are dismissed (over the PA) from their waiting areas, Day care students are also dismissed (over the PA) from their waiting areas and they are loaded when the buses arrive.
Please wait in your car to pick up your child(ren). No students will be dismissed from the office after 2:45. Please speak to the principal, Mrs.Webb, if you have an extenuating circumstance. If you have a conference scheduled with your child’s teacher, please arrive no earlier than 3:30 as teachers have assigned safety duties. Please do not ask your child to meet you in the parking lot or off school grounds at dismissal.
Please use the car tag provided.
If your child will be taking an alternate form of transportation than usual (like being a car rider instead of taking the bus), parents must send a note stating the date and form of transportation to your child’s teacher. If an emergency situation occurs, please contact the teacher and front office ASAP so that arrangements can be made. Students are only allowed to ride a bus if they are registered on that bus.
If it is necessary to pick-up your child(ren) before 2:45 p.m., please send in a note to the teacher or call the school office first. The clerk will contact the teacher with instructions to send the student to the office. Please understand that if an early dismissal request is received after 2:45 p.m, we are unable to guarantee that the message will reach the student.
Under no circumstances will a teacher release a student to a parent except through the office.
