• Welcome to our Language Arts and Reading Department page. Using a strong curriculum based on the ELA Florida Standards and researched Intensive Reading Programs, we provide meaningful instruction that will enable our students to become life-long readers and writers.

Our goal is for students to walk out of our classrooms as confident learners, ready for high school and beyond. We hope that you find the following information helpful and we look forward to working together with you to help our students succeed.

Our Language Arts and Reading Classes focus on all the essential language arts instructional benchmarks that include writing, reading, listening, viewing and speaking. Our curriculum provides students with clear learning objectives that require students to do three things daily: read grade level text, use academic vocabulary, and write with textual support and evidence.

Our Intensive Reading Classes provide students with differentiated reading and writing instruction. Daily class work is data-driven and focused on vocabulary, comprehension, fluency, and word analysis.
