Achievement Level Descriptions B.E.S.T. Standards
Achievement Level Descriptions (ALDs) explain how well a student performs on a large-scale test, such as Below Satisfactory, On-Grade-Level, or Above Satisfactory. The Florida Department of Education creates ALDs to help set standards, interpret scores, and guide teachers. These descriptions help understand a student's knowledge and skills based on state standards. In Florida, Level 3 means on-grade-level performance, while Levels 4 and 5 indicate proficiency and growth beyond expectations. The document details what students know and can do at each level for each test.
