Mission Statement
The mission of Louise R. Johnson K-8 School of International Studies is to inspire students to achieve academic excellence, embrace global diversity, and become lifelong learners.Vision Statement
To be a premier International Baccalaureate Programme.About Louise R. Johnson K-8 School of International Studies
Louise R. Johnson K-8 School of International Studies was authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization in July of 2009 to become an International Baccalaureate World School. As the only 100% choice school in Manatee County, we have a diverse population with an overall enrollment of 1000 students. Through its inquiry-led, transdisciplinary framework, the Primary Years Programme (K-5) challenges students to think for themselves and take responsibility for their learning as they explore local and global issues and opportunities in real-life contexts. The Middle Years Programme (MYP) is designed for students in grades 6-8. It provides a framework of learning, which encourages students to become creative, critical and reflective thinkers. The MYP emphasizes intellectual challenge, encouraging students to make connections between their studies in traditional subjects and the real world. We offer the structure, academic environment, and caring atmosphere to enable students to be successful. Each student is treated with respect and encouraged to reach his or her highest potential. With the assistance of our PTO, School Advisory Council, and numerous other parent volunteers, we will help our students to soar worldwide.
