Parent's Right to Know
-
September 3rd, 2024
Dear Parent or Guardian:
As a parent of a student at Bayshore High School, you have the right to ask about the professional qualifications of the classroom teachers who instruct your child. Specifically, you have the right to ask for the following information about each of your child’s classroom teachers:
- Whether the teacher met state qualifications and certification requirements for the grade level and subject he/she is teaching,
- Whether the teacher received an emergency or conditional certificate through which state qualifications were waived,
- What undergraduate or graduate degrees the teacher holds, including graduate certificates and additional degrees, and major(s) or area(s) of concentration, and
- Whether your child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications. Parents also have the right to know their child’s achievement level on the state assessments. If you would like to receive any of this information, please contact Scott Cooper, Principal at 941-751-7004 or coopers@manateeschools.net
Sincerely,
Scott Cooper,
Principal
