PCHS Students Recognized for Arts Alive Submissions

Art students at Parrish Community High School participated in the Manatee County Arts Alive Contest. The official Arts Alive Celebration will take place Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 5:30-8:30 at the Manatee Performing Arts Center. -
Golden Herald Nominees Await Award Ceremony

This year, 18 Parrish Community High School seniors were finalists for the Golden Herald awards in the categories of art, athletics, drama, general scholarship, journalism, music, science, social science, speech, and vocational. -
Black History Month – Celebrating African American Culture

Black History Month, celebrated every February, is a time to honor the rich history and profound cultural contributions of African Americans. This month-long observance provides an opportunity to reflect on the struggles and triumphs of African Americans throughout history and to acknowledge the ongoing fight for equality and justice. -
Dietz’ Guide to Time Management

As students begin to enter fourth quarter, finding a balance between studies and personal life is key to a stress-free finish to the school year. Math teacher Heather Dietz has mastered how to make her workload manageable and her days somewhat relaxed. -
TSA Students Excell at State Competition

Members of the Parrish Community High School TSA club competed in their state competition February 19-22. TSA advisor Adriana Hernandez Gore stated, “For the first time in school history, all competitors placed in top 10 at states.” -
PCHS Students Take First Place at Manatee History Day Competition

In February, Ailani Maximo, Isabella Taillefer, and Moncef Terzi took first place at the Manatee History Day Competition with their projected “Locked in for the Shackles of Time.” -
Guidance Department Hard at Work for Registration Process

As the third quarter comes to a close, students at PCHS are busy preparing for the upcoming school year by filling out their registration forms. The deadline for submission was set for February 25, and the process is now in full swing. -
Marine Science Rides the Waves to Emerson Point

In the month of February, marine science students got to engage in our local Florida backyard, Emerson Point. Emerson Point is a local estuary that offers beautiful scenery and indulgence with wildlife and nature. -
Overview of the AP Capstone Program at PCHS

Students enrolled at Parrish Community High School may be interested in the AP Capstone program. This is a program that focuses on the values of research, academic rigor, and distinction to prepare students for the college pathway. To earn an AP Capstone diploma, students must take and pass AP Seminar followed by AP Research. In addition, they must take at least 4 AP classes of their choice. -
PCHS hosts successful District Solo and Ensemble Festival, student performances recognized

On February 7 and 8, Parrish Community High School hosted over 1,000 students from all over the county for the FBA Solo and Ensemble MPA. This is a yearly event where band students perform for a judge, receive a rating, and possibly advance to states.
