HGS&L Academy Mission
The Health, Global Studies & Leadership Academy (HGS&L) is a focused “learning community” designed for students who wish to develop their leadership skills. Students may take one or more elective courses as time in their schedule permits or they may choose to complete a career pathway. The HGS&L Academy advisory council also invites local professionals from businesses and organizations in relevant fields to present to the academy students. School clubs supplement further education and leadership skill development. The academy experience is designed to help students learn skills that will prepare them for success at a postsecondary institution as well as develop marketable skills.
Academy Advisory Council
The HGS&L Academy Advisory Council promotes collaboration between SEHS students, professionals in our community and local businesses. They help to provide professional expertise to support our school’s curriculum by meeting with and addressing our students, sponsoring and presenting at a variety of venues and events and advocating on behalf of the HGS&L Academy in business and extracurricular activities throughout the community. If you are interested in joining the HGS&L Academy Advisory Council, please contact our Academy Lead teachers.
