Art (Digital)


  • Creative Photography
    Students become proficient with composition and the basic mechanics of a camera.  Student photographers may use a variety of media and materials.  This course incorporates hands on activities in and out of the classroom.  Students can and will be certified in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or InDesign.


    Digital Art Imaging (1, 2, 3, 4)
    Students explore the fundamental concepts, terminology, techniques, and applications of digital imaging to create original work.  Students use industry standard software to complete all assignments.  Students can and will be certified in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or InDesign.


    Yearbook (Digital Media/Multimedia Foundations 1, 2, 3, 4)
    Students will focus on the production of the school yearbook: ARROWHEAD.  This course includes the development of industry standard software. Students are required to meet deadlines, which will require some work afterschool and on weekends.  They are also responsible for selling a minimum number of advertisements to support the yearbook and are held to the highest standards of detail and quality.  Students can and will be certified in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or InDesign.


    AP Portfolio (AP 2D Design + AP Drawing)
    Juniors and seniors who have completed at least two years of high school art classes, working with all types of 2D media (including digital), are prepared to take on the Advanced Placement Portfolio. After a portfolio and sketchbook interview, students can sign-up through their guidance counselor with art teacher approval. This course has a rigorous deadline schedule with a digital submission required. There is also a written portion to the AP Exam.
