    Expectations for all PYP students: Integrity & Independence 

    As taught, retaught, and supported through our School Essential Agreements*. 

     

    Accept responsibility for own academic actions:

    • I will be responsible for completing my own work. (Independence)  
    • I will keep my eyes on my own work. (Honesty & Integrity) 
    • I will submit my own ideas and work for all assignments. (Responsibility) 

     

    Assessments and assignments:

    • I will do my personal best while working by myself or with others. (Responsibility and Respect) 
    • All assessments and assignments I complete will be done with  honesty and integrity, following the directions of my teacher. (Fairness) 

     

    Consequences of Academic Misconduct 

    Reporting, Recording, Monitoring, and Rights 

    Plagiarism, collusion, misrepresentation, falsification, and cheating are unacceptable behaviors for students in the Louise R. Johnson K-8 School of International Studies. Academic dishonesty is treated as a very serious matter and may result in disciplinary actions. It is the policy of our school that any student guilty of presenting another student’s work as his or her own, plagiarism, cheating in any manner on class work or tests, will be brought before Student Support Specialist/Administration. The student may face possible disciplinary actions. Students have the right to present evidence in their defense including the identification of classmates or teachers that could be called to write a statement regarding the matter in question. As per the discipline matrix, parents will be contacted as appropriate.
