Parrish Community High School's Medical Academy recently got a taste of real-world experience in the healthcare industry.
HCA Florida Blake Hospital in Bradenton hosted dozens of PCHS students last week to learn more about the hospital and what it takes to be a medical professional.
CEO Steve Young welcomed the group before they embarked on an immersive experience by testing surgical robots, touring a medical services helicopter and checking out various departments in the facility.
Students also heard lectures about rehabilitation therapy, trauma care and operating room procedures.
Health teacher April Thornton said it was a great day for these bright young people who are interested in becoming the future of healthcare!
