Charter schools are schools operating under a charter contract with the School District of Manatee County. Charters are independent public schools, which are fiscally and academically accountable to the school district, but exempt from many district requirements and many state statutes. Charter schools operate under their own governing board structure.

Per Florida Statute 1002.33, new charter school applications may be accepted at any time. In order to effectively and efficiently review the application, please contact the Charter School Coordinator to arrange a mutually agreed upon date and time to submit applications to the School District of Manatee County. 

Applicants must use the current FDOE Model Florida Charter School Application Form IEPC-M1.
