The School Health staff are employed by The School District of Manatee County and Manatee County Health Department. School Clinics are staffed by a School Nurse (Registered Nurse), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and/or Health Aide.
School Health staff work with students, families, healthcare providers, and community resources to promote a collaborative approach to improve health and learning. School Nurses and Clinic staff coordinate care for students with acute and chronic health needs, provide health education, and assist the education team in the establishment of Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
COVID- 19 Information

School clinics have developed new procedures consistent with CDC and Florida Department of Health guidelines to protect students and staff during the covid-19 emergency.
It is CRITICAL for parents to keep their student out of school if they complain of a new onset of:
- Fever
- New uncontrolled cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
Any students who report to the clinic with any of the above symptoms will be isolated and sent home immediately.
