8/24/24 Saturday Drivers Education
This is the first mandatory classroom day.
The Saturday course takes place over four (4) Saturdays from August 24 to December 14, 2024.
The location is Southeast High Auditorium, 1200 37th Avenue E, Bradenton, FL 34208.Submit Application 8am 8/12/24 - 8am 8/19/24Application Window is CLOSED.
Each STUDENT must login to MySDMC SSO and click the "FOCUS" tile.
From left navigation, go to "Forms" and roll down to select "Drivers Education Application".
When the window opens, follow the prompts.Confirmation Sent 8/20/24
Application results will be sent to PARENT via Mass Notifications.
Drivers Education

The School District of Manatee County offers a condensed Drivers Education course that consists of one (1) required classroom instruction day, followed by three (3) driving days. Students that successfully complete the course will have the opportunity to take the Florida road-test exam to earn a waiver for their Florida "Operator" Drivers License. They will also earn a Certificate of Completion that auto insurance companies may require as proof to apply for reduced rates.
• STUDENT must submit an application via their FOCUS account during the designated timeframe.
• Space is limited. If applications exceed available seats, a lottery will randomly determine who is accepted to attend the class. Application results will be sent to PARENT via Mass Notifications.
• Time commitment is four (4) mornings.
• The first classroom day is 8am-10am. Attendance is mandatory. Late students will not be admitted.
• Students will select their three driving days during the first class. The three (3) driving days are 8am-12pm.
• Students are responsible for transportation to and from class.
• All instructors are third-party Florida D.E.L.A.P. certified.
• Students will NOT receive high school credit for this condensed course.

Summer courses take place over four (4) weekdays (Monday - Friday) at Manatee High Cafeteria, 902 33rd Street Ct. W, Bradenton, FL 34205.

Student MUST already have a Learner's Permit.
Student MUST be at least 15 years of age.
Student MUST live in Manatee County.
Student MUST be currently enrolled in grades 9-12 at one of these schools in Manatee County:Bayshore High

NOT ELIGIBLE:
Middle school students and recent high school graduates are NOT eligible to take this course.
Students that have already attended a Saturday or Summer Drivers Education course are NOT eligible to take this course.
